Job Summary:
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation, analysis, and distribution of financial reports in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. This role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting principles, accounting standards, and analytical skills to support effective decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
2. Analyze financial data and trends to identify and investigate variances, anomalies, or discrepancies, and provide insightful explanations and recommendations to management.
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial information and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial reports.
4. Assist in the preparation of annual reports, quarterly filings, and other regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Develop and maintain financial reporting templates, tools, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in financial reporting processes.
6. Participate in the implementation of new accounting standards or changes in reporting requirements, ensuring proper documentation and communication of impacts.
7. Conduct financial analysis and modeling to support strategic decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
8. Assist in the coordination and execution of internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and timely resolution of audit queries.
9. Stay up-to-date with changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry best practices, and provide recommendations for process improvements and compliance enhancements.
10. Support ad-hoc financial projects, as assigned by the Finance Manager or senior management, to provide insights and analysis for business initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or related roles.
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS principles and their practical application in financial reporting.
4. Proficient in financial analysis and financial modeling techniques.
5. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
6. Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
7. Ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
8. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
9. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
10. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
